A bit of history and some stories about vintage bikes for sale

’72 Harley Davidson Sportster

At some point in life every motorcyclist needs to own a Harley Davidson, I don’t know why, but we just do. You’re either having a mid life crisis or your wife finally gives you permission to buy a motorcycle and a Harley seems safer (UH…cooler), than, let’s say a…Suzuki GSX-R 1000.

Now, you could buy a Dyna Glide, an Electra Glide, maybe even a V-Rod, and buy into the lifestyle. But, if you just want to dip your toes into the Harley Kool Aid, buy a Sportster. Yeah, I know everyone thinks the Sportster is the ‘baby’ Harley, or the ‘girl’ Harley…but in reality the Sporty is a great bike.

Then…if you get yourself a ‘vintage’ Sporty, well…your cool factor goes way up. I found this one for you.
Check out this ’72. It has been gone through a bit, doesn’t have all that many miles and looks good. There are a few updates that need to be made, most importantly the brakes!!! Fred Flintstone has better brakes on his car!!! This a cool bike. It hasn’t been molested and could turn out to be a very fun ride. Let’s see, some lower bars, taller rear shocks…Ok, I’m just dreaming here. Two things about this motorcycle I love, 1…the Sportster logo on the tank. 2…the ‘1000’ on the engine cover. Neat stuff.
